Title: Not having all my hrs transferred to a tip pool
Problem is i often clock in and by default it is as a bartender. And not until i get my first table do i realize that i need to clock out and clock back in inorder to access the proper screen. So that would mean that on the cash out receipt you would have to add the 2 times together inorder to properly give me credit for hrs worked that day/that shift.
Since Stacy bartends one would look at her hrs and apply them and then closer to the bottom you extract the hrs each server worked and would then apply those to the spread sheet.
For example, last NYE i was scheduled as a server so i clocked in.
2 hrs into the shift i was told i would be taking orders from the bar seats so i clocked out ans back in again as a bartender only because it has a different screen. Ehen i got my tips, i made $80 or $100 less then other servers. Now knowing that the print out that is used to calculate tip pool hrs doesnt combine my total hrs worked that shift, makes perfect sense that i got shorted then and on many many other shifts!
I had asked Cindy once if how that worked regarding my pay and she told me that it all is added up, which it is on my paycheck. As for where i make the bulk of my money from, if the 2 positions dont get added together per shift, then im out a good 30 to 60 dollars on any given shift that this occurs on.
Hi Janeen,
Thank you for your submission. I’m not sure what your question is, exactly, but your employer is required to keep accurate records of all your hours worked. If you made a mistake when clocking in and out, then you should timely notify your employer of it.
Your employer is then required to correct it when you notify them of the mistake. If they refuse to correct it, despite your timely notification of the error, then you may have had your rights violated.
I hope this information helps. Please remember that this information does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied on. Nor does it create an attorney-client relationship.
