My CA employer requires myself and three co-workers that are salary exempt Buyer/Planners in the Purchasing department to work mandatory overtime hours on Saturday at the same schedule as the hourly production workforce. This is in addition to our M-F 40 hour work week. Currently it is every other Saturday for 7 hours. Is there a point that we can be paid overtime as we are required to work the same hours as the hourly workforce? Can the employer require mandatory overtime ongoing, forever, or are there any guidelines for exempt employees?
